Michel, a former United States youth international (U23), first rose to prominence at the University of Portland, where he scored 31 goals in 53 appearances across three collegiate seasons for the Portland Pilots. His standout performances earned him a Homegrown Player contract with hometown MLS side Orlando City SC in 2019 — becoming the fifth such signing in the club’s history. During his time in Orlando, Michel made 118 appearances, registering 19 goals and 13 assists.
